The chamber lay still as the guardian’s remains laid on the floor. No treasure was present, only a cryptic map carved in stone. As the relic used to open the gate neared the map, both started reacting, and a tridimensional projection came out of the relic. They knew where to go: the Camata Desert.
Allegedly, on the summer solstice, a pyramidal structure becomes visible, and the map points to it. It remains surfaced for as long as the sun is in the sky, after which it disappears once more. The summer solstice is only a few days away, and the heroes must travel with haste if they hope to find the Manros’ riches.
After braving the desert on camelback and reaching the indicated site on the dawn of the solstice, our heroes witness a wondrous event. Rays of sunlight cross a structure much like a magnifying glass, and the resulting sunbeam seems to drag a stone structure out of the ground. As the great pyramid appears, sand pouring out of its entrance, the adventurers’ hearts race, yearning for Loot!
The heroes come across multiple inscriptions much like those in the sewer’s gate on their way to the top floor. Little can be extracted from them, but at least one inscription is of an enormous dragon. Many challenges are overcome – rolling boulders, sarcophagi filled with poisonous traps, and mystical creatures who draw sustenance from the magic inside the pyramid.
The final chamber has a pedestal in its center holding a marvelous item unlike anything they have ever seen. The adventurers know by now it might be rigged to set off a trap. Regardless, this is why they came for. As they reach for it, the ground starts to rumble, and it is time to roll initiative!
